Tenerife is home to an incredible number of viewpoints. Mountains, the Atlantic Ocean, lush greenery, cliffs, and volcanic landscapes can all be seen in a single day of travel. In this article, we’ve compiled a map of Tenerife’s best viewpoints for you to explore. Each location includes photos, a Google Maps link, and a detailed description. Plus, at the end of the article, you’ll find our personal top 7 list of the most beautiful views in Tenerife, carefully selected for our readers.
🚗Planning to explore Tenerife’s viewpoints by car? Most miradors are only reachable by road. We recommend renting a car through DiscoverCars — they compare prices across all major rental companies so you get the best deal for your dates.
When in Granadilla de Abona, be sure to visit📍Mirador Montaña Roja. This viewpoint offers incredible views of the volcanic landscape, cliffs, and the ocean. The climb to the top is generally not difficult, but keep in mind that the sun can be very intense.
One of the most famous views is located in Los Gigantes. From📍Mirador Archipenque, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the famous cliffs and the ocean. Since the viewpoint is located right in town, there is a café nearby, and you can easily get there on foot or by car.
🐬While you’re in Los Gigantes, don’t miss the chance to get out on the water. Book a 3-hour sailing excursion with swimming, drinks & tapas (€70) or a whale & dolphin watching + snorkeling tour (€28).
We highly recommend stopping at📍Mirador de Cherfe, especially if you’re planning a visit to the village of Masca. This viewpoint is located right on the TF-436, so you definitely can’t miss it. From here, you can see the Masca valley, Teno mountains, and cliffs.
🏍️Want to go deeper into Masca? Join a guided buggy tour through Masca Valley and the Pirate Village — groups of 4, spectacular views (€199 per person).
📍Mirador de los Poleos is located quite far from the main towns on the TF-38. It’s an ideal first stop on the way to Mount Teide, where you can truly appreciate the majesty of the mountains and the ocean surrounding Tenerife.
📍Mirador Altos de Baracán is another spot that can be combined with a trip to Masca. You can visit it if you’re heading north from the village on the TF-436. It is located on a narrow ridge with valleys on either side, offering particularly beautiful sunset views.
Want to feel like you’re on the very edge of Tenerife?📍Mirador Punta de Teno is located on a small patch of land surrounded by the ocean on three sides. The cliffs drop straight into the water, and there are several other viewpoints and a lighthouse nearby. While the mirador is always open, the road access for private vehicles is restricted from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
A hidden gem of Teide National Park is📍Mirador de el Alto de Guamaso, which few people know about. The trail starts at a parking lot on the TF-24 highway. The viewpoint offers excellent views of the forest and mountains. A short loop trail from the mirador takes less than an hour, but it is definitely worth it. You can see the La Orotava Valley from above, and on a clear day, even the city of Puerto de la Cruz.
📍Mines of San Jose is located near Mount Teide itself. From here, it’s easy to get a sense of the park’s massive scale. The area is open and vast, filled with sand, lava formations, rocks, and rare plants. There is parking on both sides of the TF-21, so you can leave your car and take a stroll through this “mini desert.”
📍La Ruleta Vista Point is one of the island’s most famous attractions. These unique lava formations have a staircase leading directly up to them. From the top, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Mount Teide, which contrasts perfectly with the surrounding lava and rock pillars.
📍Llano de Ucanca Vista Point, which has a small roadside parking lot, is also located on the TF-21. A walk through this area offers a sweeping panorama of volcanic plateaus and jagged cliffs at the foot of Mount Teide. The volcano itself is clearly visible and looks particularly impressive from this vantage point.
📍Mirador de Chipeque offers one of the most stunning panoramas on the island. A “sea of clouds” often stretches over the valley and pine forests, with the peak of Mount Teide rising in the distance. There is a small parking lot here, and the viewpoint is easily accessible from the TF-24.
🌋Go higher than any mirador. Book the Mount Teide Cable Car excursion with hotel pickup — views from 3,500m, guide included (€87).
🌠Or come back at night. Book the Teide Sunset & Stargazing Tour— Starlight Reserve, telescope, astronomer guide (from €40).

🏨Staying near Teide? Parador de Las Cañadas del Teide — the only hotel inside the national park. Wake up to volcanic landscapes before anyone else arrives.
📍Mirador de Humboldt offers a classic panorama of the Orotava Valley, with Mount Teide visible in the background in all its glory. Located in the La Orotava region, it is easily accessible from the town center.
Your next stop in Los Realejos is📍Mirador El Lance. This high point offers views of agricultural terraces, the town, and the ocean. The atmosphere here is very calming, and since it’s not a major tourist spot, you will rarely encounter crowds.
📍Mirador Taoro is located in the historic park of the same name, on a hill overlooking Puerto de la Cruz. The viewpoint itself is surrounded by century-old dragon trees and lush tropical greenery. From this vantage point, you can admire the tiled roofs and white facades of houses cascading down toward the Atlantic Ocean.
🏨Best hotel in Puerto de la Cruz: Hotel Botanico & The Oriental Spa Garden — finest resort in the north, 3 pools, 4 restaurants, views of Teide and the sea.
📍Mirador La Paz is also located in Puerto de la Cruz, just a few minutes from the center. It overlooks Playa Martiánez and its famous swimming pools. The scene offers a striking contrast between modern architecture, a masterpiece by César Manrique, and the natural black volcanic shore of the beach.
Remote but unrivaled,📍Mirador Bollullo is situated above one of the wildest beaches in northern Tenerife. The viewpoint stands right on the edge of green hills, overlooking a stretch of black volcanic sand sandwiched between massive cliffs and the ocean.
🪂The north is one of the best spots for paragliding. Book your tandem paragliding flight over the green valley and ocean — up to 35 min (€110–€140).
Located above Rambla de Castro in Los Realejos,📍Mirador San Pedrois one of the few places in Tenerife where a truly untouched coastal landscape remains. Here, you can take in views of rocky cliffs covered in palms and laurel trees, with the quiet valley sloping gently down to the sea.
📍Mirador La Garañona stands on a high cliff overlooking the Atlantic between El Sauzal and La Matanza. It is one of the most impressive viewpoints on the northern coast. The sheer height of the cliff makes the waves below seem almost silent. The horizon is unobstructed, and on clear days, the silhouettes of neighboring islands are visible in the distance.
Not far from the previous spot is another impressive vantage point,📍Mirador del Parque Los Lavaderos. It is located in the well-maintained municipal park of El Sauzal, known for its cascading fountains and lush vegetation. This is not a viewpoint in the classic sense, but rather a scenic spot along a walking path. You can gaze out at the ocean, Mount Teide, green slopes, and colonial-style houses right through the trees.
Only the endless ocean and one of the best sunsets you’ve ever seen lie ahead. That is the essence of📍Mirador Los 500 escalones. It is probably the least known of the best coastal views of Tenerife, but it is definitely worth a visit. A long staircase descends a steep cliff, and from the top, the ocean view is simply breathtaking.
📍Mirador El Lagarito in Garachico is also worth a visit. The town itself was partially destroyed by the 1706 eruption and later rebuilt in a beautiful colonial style. From this vantage point, you can admire the red-tiled roofs of the historic center, against the backdrop of the dark lava promenade and the dramatic northern coastline.
📍Mirador de Atalaya is located higher up on the hillside above the town and offers a wider panorama than Mirador El Lagarito. The entire town feels like it’s just a stone’s throw away. From here, you can clearly see individual houses, the church, and even the outlines of boats in the harbor.
🏨Staying in Garachico? Boutique Hotel San Roque — 18th-century mansion, 3 min from El Caletón lava pools, only 20 rooms.
One of the best viewpoints in Tenerife accessible by car is located at the entrance to Anaga Rural Park. From📍Mirador De Jardina, you can see how the urban landscape gives way to primeval greenery. The slopes are covered in ancient laurel forests, which look remarkably vibrant on a clear day.
📍Mirador Cruz del Carmen is located next to the visitor center, making it the most accessible and popular viewpoint in this part of the island. The view opens onto a “green carpet” of mountain ranges with no signs of development on the horizon. Anaga’s laurel forest is one of the largest remaining in Europe, and from this vantage point, its scale is truly striking.
📍Mirador Pico del Inglés is one of the highest points in Anaga. This is where the most iconic photos of the mountain range are taken. The ridges roll off in both directions like waves covered in green vegetation. Clouds often hover level with the observation spot, sometimes completely obscuring the view.
📍Mirador Risco Amogoje is further off the beaten path than most tourist spots, which is why it’s far less crowded. Accessible via the TF-134 highway, it offers views of steep, almost vertical cliffs descending into deep, shadowed gorges. The rocky walls meet the ocean, creating white stripes of surf in a very wild landscape.
📍Mirador Aguaide is located on the northeastern coast of Anaga, where the mountains drop straight into the sea. The mirador literally hangs over the water. When you look down several hundred meters, you see only cliffs and open ocean with no shoreline. There is no tourist infrastructure here, just the wind, the altitude, and the endless horizon.
📍Mirador Playa las Teresitas is located north of Santa Cruz. Below lies golden sand, imported from the Western Saharan coast of Morocco in 1973–1975. The contrast against the dark volcanic rocks is striking. The bay is protected by a breakwater, keeping the azure water calm while the Atlantic waves crash outside.
